Construction of a new building at the Connaught Range and Primary Training Centre required a Stage 1 Archaeological Assessment of the development area due primarily to its proximity to the Ottawa River. Research conducted by the Cataraqui Archaeological Research Foundation determined a moderate to high potential for the presence of prehistoric archaeological resources and a moderate potential for the presence of historic remains.
