Preliminary testing at the site of a new residence at RMC on Point Frederick in Kingston indicated the existence of significant cultural resources. During 2004 a large scale excavation of the development site was undertaken by the Cataraqui Archaeological Research Foundation, revealing evidence of both prehistoric and historic occupations, with the discovery of numerous features and artifacts relating to the early British occupation of the site.
