Instructor Michelle Moore Teaches Students About Digging

The mandate of the Cataraqui Archaeological Research Foundation focusses on education and research, and we have a strong commitment to providing educational programes for all ages and skill levels. Through such activitites as presentations to historical and other interested organisations, half and full day programmes for students visiting from local schools, and our week-long summer camp, "Can You Dig It?," we take very seriously our responsibility to raise the level of archaeological awareness in Eastern Ontario.

Students Screen Dirt for Small Artifacts

We would be glad to have your school or organisation visit the Kingston Archaeological Centre to learn about archaeology, specifically about archaeology in Eastern Ontario. Guided tours are available upon request, and our extensive research facilities provide insight into the history of the region unavailable anywhere else. If you are interested in having your group or class tour the Kingston Archaeological Centre, or if you would like to learn more about having one of our archaeologists visit you to talk about archaeology in Kingston and around Eastern Ontario, please contact us. Registration forms for classes and for individual students can be found on our Educational Programmes page.
