I have a few artifacts that I will describe my artifacts including badges and buttons.
I have two different artifacts from the 62nd regiment. Here is a brief history of the 62nd regiment and its involvement in North America.
The 62nd regiment was formed in 1758 for the duke of Edinbrough named Sir Wiltshire. The 62nd regiment was also called the Wiltshire regiment. The 62nd regiment was at first called the second foot regiment. In 1759 they got their name changed to the 62nd. They where then used as marines and sent to North America to participate in the siege of Louisburg. They earned their first battle honor there. They where after used in many places in Canada before returning in England. The 62nd regiment still exists to this day.
My first artifact is a badge of the 62nd regiment. It is made of brass. It is suppose to represent the sun there where sun rays all around the medal. The badge has the number 62 written in the middle of the badge. It also has some Latin words around the edges. It was clipped on the coat. It is of British make.
My second object is also related to the 62nd regiment. It is made out of brass. It came from Britain. It was used on coat. It was used on the coat. It was used in the 18th century. It is round and has the number 62 in the middle. On the back of the button it says the name of maker. The name of the maker is Rogers & co, London.
My last object is a plum holder a grenadier would have. Its nationality is unknown but it presumably French or British. It is made out of brass. The grenadier would have used It to hold a plum on his hat. The plum holder is in the shape of a ignited grenade. It has Latin on the edges. It has the crown of Britain or France on it and on the it has a canon on it.
