Week 1
Well we have finally gotten a break from digging, which actually gives us a chance to work on (what we promised a couple weeks ago…sorry) our blog! During Week 1, with our first years, we made a good start! We opened three pits; V, W, and X, near the Commandant’s House based on information from historical maps as well as test pits from previous years. Despite a constant battle with seagulls, and worms, we made great progress, and were able to find many artefacts such as animal bones, nails, glass, ceramic, and even an earring!
