Kingston has proclaimed the week of June 11 to 16 "Archaeology Week", and the mayor has issued a proclamation announcing the celebration.

The following Archaeology Week events will take place at the Kingston Archaeological Centre:

Monday June 11

Stop by the centre for a free commemorative poster, or order one on-line (just pay shipping and handling). We'll be running a quiz based on the poster, with a great prize for the winner.

Tuesday June 12

Tiny Trowels: Stories for children 0 to 7 years old (10:00am to 11:00am).

Wednesday June 13

Launch of the Mini-Book series in partnership with the Ministry of Citizenship through the Ontario Community Builders (7:00pm) and the Landscape/Archaeology Virtual Tour and Touch at the Centre (refreshments will be served).

Thursday June 14

Hands-on Activities for visitors at the Centre from 10:00am to 11:00am and again from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, including artifact reconstruction and illustration.

Friday June 15

First Capital Day: The centre is open to the public. Bring in your strange and mysterious objects and "Ask the Archaeologist" (2:00pm to 4:00pm).

Saturday June 16

Doors Open at the Centre, 10:00am to 4:00pm, and the new Market Square Exhibit in the Interpretive Centre will be launched.
